Robert Hovhannisyan shares 1-2 places at World Junior Chess Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmasters Robert Hovhannisyan and Samvel Ter-Sahakyan scored victories over Axel Rambaldoni (Italy) and Maxim Matlakov (Russia) respectively in round 8 of the World Junior Chess Championship in Chennai, India.

Hovhannisyan currently shares 1-2 places with 7 points while Ter-Sahakyan retained the 4th place with 6.5 points.

In the girls’ tournament, Armenia’s Maria Gevorgyan tied a game against Marigje Degrande of Belgium. She is currently 51st with 3 points.
