THE PRESIDENT OF THE UKRAINE WILL TAKE PART IN THE MEETING OF ROBERT KOCHARIAN AND HEYDAR ALIYEV

The president of the Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, who is having his rest in the Crimea, will take part in the meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, planned to take place in Simferopol. The presidents will discuss the Karabakh issue settlement, reported today RIA-Novosti agency.

On August 18-19 an unofficial summit of the leaders of CIS states will take place in the Crimea. The Armenian officials didn't exclude that the meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan will take place there, but nothing has been said concerning the possible participation of the Ukrainian leader.

"We are ready to receive in Yalta the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in case of their consent",- declared in the interview to MEDIAMAX the deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Ukraine Dmitry Tkach on May 30, 2000. In May 2000 the minister of foreign affairs of the Ukraine Boris Tarasyuk noted that the Ukraine is ready to receive the participants of the negotiations on the Karabakh problem settlement with an according "wish" of the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Besides, he said, with their consent and the decision of the OSCE Kiev is ready to participation in the formation of peace-keeping contingent for Karabakh conflict settlement as well.

Dmitry Tkach told MEDIAMAX that these suggestions of the Ukrainian side remain valid, and they were discussed at his meeting with the foreign minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian.

"The Ukraine has experience of participation in such kind of operations in post-Soviet space. I want to confirm once more that the situation formed in the Caucasian region, infringes on the Ukrainian security interests ",-said the deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Ukraine.-0-
