KARABAKH ISSUE NOT TO BE SETTLED MILITARILY, US AMBASSADOR TO ARMENIA STATED

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nagorno Karabakh issue should not be settled militarily, as US ambassador to Armenia John Ordway stated in Yerevan today. As reported by Mediamax agency, the diplomat told it while commenting on the calls to settle the issue by resorting force uttered during the pre-election campaign in Azerbaijan. "The US strongly objects any attempts of violating armistice. If one of the parties begins military operations, it can have fatal consequences as for the country itself as for the whole region", John Ordway noted. The ambassador emphasized that Armenian and Azeri authorities many times assured US leadership of their intention to settle the Karabakh issue peacefully.
