PanARMENIAN.Net - The Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Richard G. Lugar (R-IN) today joined the growing list of Senate supporters in cosponsoring a key trade bill that will allow Armenia to take full advantage of its membership to the World Trade Organization and also promote permanent normal trade relations with the United States. The bill would also allow expand the list of Armenian goods having tariff benefits when being exported to the US. As reported by the Armenian National Committee of America, the legislation will open the door to additional trade agreements between Armenia and the US, and help alleviate in some small measure the damaging impact of Turkey's and Azerbaijan's blockades of Armenia, which is estimated by the World Bank to be about $720 million per year.
