Armenia’s online trade revenue totals USD 10 mln in 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - Online trade revenue amounted to USD 10 mln in Armenia during 2011, RA Deputy Minister of Economy said.

According to Vahe Danielyan,978 000 electronic cards were issued in Armenia during 2011, the trade turnover of which totaled AMD 740 bln.

Noncash and internet transactions comprised AMD 58 bln. and AMD 13 bln. respectively out of above mentioned figure.

Vahe Danielyan noted that the statistics has been drawn from Central Bank official data.

Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) executive director Karen Vardanyan, in turn, noted that Armenian online trade volume would increase10 times within the coming 2 years if the changes proposed by Interdepartmental Committee on study of online trade key problems were introduced to Armenian legal field.
