Prime Minister of Armenia, member of the executive body of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Tigran Sargsyan met his fellow party members, the public and intellectuals of Gyumri on March 6 within RPA election campaign framework. Prime Minister said at the meeting that the RPA executive body decided to base the election campaign on meetings with the party supporters, that's why he heads the working group visiting the provinces.
For his part, RPA deputy Gagik Minasyan added that people on spots will make more efforts to implement the program devised after all these meetings because it will be “their program”.
Sargsyan told RPA members about the work the party has been doing throughout these years. He highlighted the party’s priorities, in particular, provision of Armenia’s security from external threats, as well as establishment of dialogue with the opposition and creation of an atmosphere of tolerance in the country. PM noted that implementation of reforms in all spheres will be a priority task for RPA after the elections, in particular, tackling the poverty, improving the well-being of population and creation of new jobs.
PM Sargsyan focused on social programs pursued by the authorities in the fields of education and healthcare. He said lack of financial resources must not prevent children from poor families from getting higher education. Also, those underprivileged must be provided with an opportunity of medical treatment for cardiovascular and oncological diseases.
Participants of the meeting were particularly enthusiastic over PM’s statement on the government’s decision to move some of state agencies from Yerevan to other cities to ensure even development of country’s provinces.
Gyumri meeting marked the end of RPA election program discussion with the party’s supporters in provinces.
