DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONS BETWEEN IRAN AND RUSSIA ADVANTAGEOUS TO ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - The development of relations between Iran and Russia is advantageous to Armenia, Armenian Ambassador to Iran Gegham Gharibjanian told journalists yesterday. In his words, a demarche against the tripartite agreement signed in Moscow May 24 by Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan on the building of the Kazvin-Resht-Astara railway line is out of question. The Ambassador did not agree either with a journalist's opinion that the document was a move Russia made in response to the agreement on building of the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline signed earlier. He noted that the Iranian-Armenian gas pipeline was of strategic importance not only for those two countries, but also the stability and development of the whole region.
