PACE RESOLUTION ON ARMENIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS TO BE PASSED IN APRIL

PanARMENIAN.Net - The resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the presidential elections held in Armenia will be passed at the Assembly Bureau sitting in April. As reported by "Arka" agency, said PACE Armenian delegation head, chairman of the parliamentary commission on foreign relations Hovhannes Hovhannisian. He confirmed that a report of the observers of the Armenian presidential elections had been heard at PACE Bureau yesterday's sitting. At the same time H. Hovhannisian found it difficult to present the results of the sitting, noting that the full document on the sitting will be received only this evening. Let us remind that March 7 Council of Europe secretary general Walter Schwimmer and PACE chairman Peter Schieder expressed concern that the presidential elections in Armenia had fallen short of international standards of democratic elections. W. Schwimmer and P. Schieder noted that the irregularities in the course of the elections could not remain without consequences.
