Rural community governor in Bavra - unable to solve problem with Georgian frontier guards

PanARMENIAN.Net - While trying to obtain information on what is happening on Armenian-Georgian border and how Georgian frontier guards appeared on Armenian territory, a PanARMENIAN.Net reported managed to find out that the issue is within the competence of RA Foreign Ministry and National Security Service.

As reported by RA Territorial Administration Ministry, rural community governor of Bavra village (Shirak region) has several times applied to them since May 2009, and notified of Georgian frontier forces' invasion of their village. "We applied to RA Foreign and Territorial Administration Ministries and were informed that villagers were entitled to use those lands. But Armenian frontier guards say territories are disputable, hence rural population has no right to use them," village governor said.

Territorial Administration Ministry agreed that the problem was within its competence, while Foreign Ministry only confirmed that it was aware of the situation and stated that such problems arise only in areas where Armenian-Georgian border demarcation issue is disputable.
