TURKEY FEARS ECONOMIC PRESSURE BY ARMENIANS DEMANDING "GENOCIDE COMPENSATION"

PanARMENIAN.Net - A number of authoritative insurance companies of the US and Europea continue dealing with cases of Armenians, who in their time lived in the Ottoman Turkey. Thereupon expressing concern, chairman of the Assembly of Turkish American Associations Ercument Kilic noted that if 100-150 years ago the insurance of those people had totaled $10 million, today it might reach several trillion. As reported by "Arminfo" agency referring to Turkish sources, Kilic warned "if efficient measures are not taken in time, Armenians will demand "compensation for the genocide" from insurance companies, which in their turn can present a claim of trillions of liras to Turkey." "As a result Turkey may be left face to face against the US powerful bank system and insurance companies, which have rather much influence in the US," - Kilic stated. To prevent developments dangerous for Turkey he suggests resorting to the Jewish and Japanese lobby in the US. As written by "Hurriet" Turkish newspaper, Armenians residing in US again intend to put economic pressure upon Turkey. According to the source Armenian Diaspora representatives, who have kept their old insurance policies, intend to demand compensation "for the genocide" from Turkey, which they consider the assignee of the Ottoman Empire.
