ARMENIA IS AGAINST REPEAL OF SECTION 907

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is against repeal of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act, passed by U.S. Congress. Armenian President's Press Secretary Vahe Gabrielian stated it when commenting some American Senators' initiative. As we have reported before, Azerbaijan has conditioned its assistance to the Americans in the war on terrorism by repeal of Section 907, which bans the U.S. Administration to render aid to Azerbaijan until it raises the blockade of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. The Press Secretary of the head of the Armenian state reminded that President Kocharian had expressed readiness to apply Armenia's modest potential for a unified antiterrorist front formation. He noted corresponding departments of Armenia and U.S.A. are in touch constantly and Yerevan is ready to discuss the proposals of the American side redarding this question. Meanwhile Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Andranik Margarian answering the questions of the members of the Parliament stated Armenian authorities had not received any official requests from the U.S.A. on this occasion.
