LEADER OF DEMOCRATIC PARTY CALLS ON THE RESIGNATION OF ARMENIAN FM

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, May 11. /Mediamax/. The organizational committee "In Defense of Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR)" and non-governmental organization "In Defense of liberated territories" spoke today with a joint declaration, in which they expressed their discontentment with the recent statement of the Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian.

The head of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia used Wednesday the term "occupied" regarding the territories, which are under the control of the NKR Defense Army.

"In connection with the last statement of the Foreign Minister, we believe that Vardan Oskanian cannot anymore fulfil the duties of the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry and should resign", one of the initiators of the formation of the organizational committee "In Defense of NKR", leader of the Democratic Party of Armenia Aram Sarkisian said.

According to him, the theses of the new variant of Karabakh conflict settlement, presented by V. Oskanian, "fully put Armenia's statehood under a threat". A. Sarkisian noted that such "instigating" statements destabilize the situation in the country and encourage the enemy to resume hostilities. He also didn't exclude the possibility of resumption of war by Azerbaijan after the return of territories and recognition of the "nominal" presence of Nagorno Karabakh in the composition of Azerbaijan.

The destructive foreign policy, began by the first President Levon Ter-Petrosian and continued up to present, brought to total distortion of the Karabakh conflict, Aram Sarkisian stated. --0--
