EX-SPEAKER OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT THINKS ITS INADMISSIBLE TO CHANGE NAGORNO KARABAKH TO AN OBJECT OF NEGOTIATIONS

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, May 11. /Mediamax/. Changing Nagorno Karabakh from the subject of negotiations to an object is inadmissible and is fraught with serious consequences, ex-speaker of the Armenian parliament Babken Ararktsian said today at a press conference in Yerevan.

He reminded that before the resignation of Levon Ter-Petrosian in early 1998, the process of the negotiations proceeded with the participation of the authorities of Nagorno Karabakh. Ex-speaker said that in 1992 the Supreme Council of Armenia took a decision, in accord with which the agreement on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict should be ratified by the parliament. It is assumed today only to hold discussions on this document with the political forces and then submit it for referendum, which means to "shift off" the responsibility, ex-speaker of the Armenian parliament said. The administration of Ex-president Levon Ter-Petrosian was ready to take the whole responsibility. --0--
