CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF ARMENIA CONSIDERED THE AGREEMENT ON ICRC'S STATUS IN ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - 09.02.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Today the Constitutional Court of Armenia considered the appeal of the Armenian President Robert Kocharian on the accordance of agreements between Armenia and the International Committee for Red Cross (ICRC) on "ICRC's status in RA" (November 5, 1993) and the protocol on amendments to this agreement (July 19, 2000) to the main law. Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian was the official representative of the President in the court.

The documents determine the principles and conditions of the activity of the ICRC in Armenia, giving it the status of an intergovernmental organization. Having considered the documents, the Constitutional Court didn't find any contradictions with the main law of the country. --0--
