VARDANIAN IS ARRESTED FOR 10 DAYS FOR ORGANIZING UNSANCTIONED MEETING IN CENTRAL YEREVAN

The court of first instance of the Arabkir community of Yerevan has made a decision of administrative punishment of the president of the "21st century" association, the citizen of the Russian Federation Arkady Vardanian, who organized on October 30 mass actions in Yerevan demanding Armenian president's resignation.

By the decision of the court, Arkady Vardanian will spend 10 days in the cell of preliminary imprisonment for organizing unsanctioned meetings in central Yerevan. Vardanian's lawyer, Karo Karapetian, who also took part in yesterday's actions, will be imprisoned for 7 days.

On October 30 some thousands of supporters of Arkady Vardanian picketed the residence of the Armenian President Robert Kocharian blocking the traffic in Baghramian Avenue. -0-
