PanARMENIAN.Net - 27.09.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The hearings of the statements of the accused are proceeding at the court session on the case of the terrorist act against RNK president Ghukasian.

As the correspondent of MEDIAMAX reports from RNK, accused Levon Mirzoyan who, according to the indictment, had shot RNK president with automatic machine-gun, denied his participation in the terrorist act, as he did during the preliminary investigation. He declared that he had nothing to do with the other accused and doubted in the results of the criminal examination, which proved his involvement in the commitment of the crime. Mirzoyan also flatly refused the fact that Samvel Babayan had apportioned him 2 million drams as a reward for participating in the terrorist act.

Accused Khachatur Petrosian, charged with misprision of felony, confirmed the statements he had made before, concerning Samvel Babayan's preparation for the attempt upon RNK president. According to Petrosian, David Gulian told him about it, informing about S. Babayan's order to accelerate the realization of the terrorist act. He said he offered David Gulian to leave Nagorno Karabakh with their families in this connection.

Accused Armen Antonian - the former head of ammunition depot of the military unit under the command of Sasun Aghajanian, confirmed the fact that large amount of unregistered weapon was taken away from the unit. He stated that the weapon was taken to Samvel Babayan's home village. Antonian also admitted that on Aghajanian's demand he gave 200 machine-gun cartridges to the latter, which, according to the statements of the direct executors of the terrorist act, were later used during the test of the weapon, meant for the murder.

The trial is proceeding. -0-
