ARMENIAN AND IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTERS DISCUSSED REGIONAL SECURITY

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today issues of regional security, problems in the Near East, as well as the processes of settlement of conflicts in the South Caucasus were discussed by Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian and Iranian foreign ministry head Kamal Kharrazi being in Yerevan on an official call. As reported by the press service of the Armenian foreign ministry, the meeting participants positively assessed the rate of the Armenian-Iranian cooperation, especially noting the importance of implementation of joint programs, specifically the building of the hydroelectric power plant on the Arax border river, Iran-Armenian gas pipeline and the Kajaran tunnel. The ministers came for activation of implementation of these programs, "which are of not only economic, but also political importance." Let us note that the Iranian foreign minister has already conferred with officials of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
