Azerbaijan made a stir againAll the talks on Euro integration are just empty words intended for the "naïve" World Community. Again Baku made a stir. While the Prime-Minister of the "brother country" announces to the whole world that Hrant Dink's murder was an action against Turkey and the General Staff and the Minister of Foreign Affairs repeat the same statement after him, Azerbaijan couldn't have found anything better to show its true colors. They had better kept silent; it would first of all be for Turkey's own benefit. ![]() PanARMENIAN.Net - Baku, or to be more exact, its unsuccessful political scientists, historians and public figures, not knowing how to please Ilham Aliyev and anti-American hysteria unleashed by him, have started to comment on Dink's murder in their own way. According to the political scientist Rasim Musabekov, "No matter how hard the Armenians try to use this murder for their political interests (the number of those who are willing to do so is not few), they will not achieve anything". I wonder what Musabekov thinks the Armenians want to achieve: the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, opening the borders or something else. Or what is most likely according to PACE Deputy Rafael Guseinov - "takeover of Nakhijevan and other Azeri regions". In short, Azerbaijan didn't reap any lesson - all the talks about Euro integration are just empty words intended for the "naïve" World Community, which will evenly listen to Ilham Aliyev's recurrent "tales" for the sake of oil. According to Musabekov again, "In this case (Dink's murder) it is a matter of an unpleasant incident, of an ordinary criminal act. It is clear, that Turkey's ill-wishers will use this purely criminal act for their own benefit, trying to do harm to the country. And in this case Turkey's duty is to show that the country's authorities are able to provide with objective justice and punish the murderer". Once again Baku does a great disservice to Ankara - it could just pretend that it shares the common position of the world, but not, as always it must give its purely Azeri view on the matter; i.e. since he was an Armenian, then it served him right. It is hard to say how far Azerbaijan will go with this policy. However our neighbor has already established a new organization of "Natives from Western Azerbaijan", i.e. from Armenia. But there is a question rising here; who hankers after somebody else's land, Yerevan or Baku? However the worst fear of our neighbor is the opening of the borders, because if it happens, and one should never forget that everything is possible in this world (even the recognition of the historical truth), then Azerbaijan will be left all alone with its oil, ambitions about gaining power over the whole region and the country, which is not very advantageous to have any sort of business with because of its unpredictability. This is why Ilham Aliyev is on Presidential Chair now, and will continue sitting there for the nearest future to the grief of both his nation and the neighboring countries. Thus after presidential elections Turkey will finally decide which way to go - and accordingly will establish its relations with Azerbaijan. And these relationships will not be based on "brotherly", but on more worthwhile ties - is Baku a profitable ally for Ankara from energy vectors and geopolitical view points. In its starvation to become the power holder of the region Turkey definitely won't glance back at curtseys from Baku, but will consider who will be a better ally for him, as it realizes that sooner or later Ankara will have to withdraw from intervention into Karabakh conflict regulation. It already has too many problems of its own to solve.
