Depardieu met with Armenian President Serzgh Sargsyan, parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, gave a press conference, visited Parajanov museum and attended the award ceremony of Karot 2010 Festival, which brought together a number of Russian stars – Emmanuil Vitorgan, Alexei Petrenko, Igor Kostolevsky and some others – as well. The legend was honored with Karot award, medal of honor of the Armenian National Assembly and was gifted a silver jug by a famous Armenian jewellery house, all this accompanied by warm and sincere words. Unable to conceal emotion, Depardieu said, “Armenians are the people of Universe. All my Armenian friends are like you, with kindness and tolerance in the eyes. This moves me to tears.
