European Chess Championship 4th round due March 23

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Hrant Melkumian will face off against Nikita Vitiugov (Russia) in the fourth round of the European Chess Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The chess players have 3 points each and share 1st-11th places in the tournament standing.

Sergei Movsesian will rival Zbyněk Hráček (Czech Republic), Robert Hovhannisyan will face Russia’s Mikhail Kobalia, Vladimir Akopian- Valery Popov (Russia).

Another board pairings have been announced as follows: Gabriel Sarkissian- Nils Grandelius (Sweden), Tigran L. Petrosian- Bartlomiej Heberla (Poland), Samvel Ter-Sahakyan- Evgenia Ovod (Russia), Arman Pashikian- Robin Dragomirescu (Romania), Hovhannes Gabuzyan-Bartosz Socko.

The winner will get euro 14 thous. The event is organized in 11-round Swiss system in accordance with the ECU Tournament Rules and FIDE Laws of Chess.

The rate of play will be 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.
