RPA, Prosperous Armenia key runners for parliament, RPA member says![]() March 24, 2012 - 12:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Representative of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Gagik Minasyan said RPA and Prosperous Armenia are the key favorites standing for the upcoming parliamentary elections. “3 or 4 parties are following RPA and Prosperous Armenia, claiming to get over the 5% threshold,” he told a press conference in Yerevan. Minasyan also highlighted the importance of holding fair elections in the country saying all prerequisites are there to do it. Among these conditions, he named stable domestic and political situation, the new Electoral Code, as well as the experience gained during previous elections. Eight political parties and one bloc, namely the opposition Armenian National Congress are participating in the race. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
