5 DEPUTIES OF ARMENIAN ORIGIN ELECTED TO NEW GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT

PanARMENIAN.Net - 5 deputies of Armenian origin have been elected to the new Georgian parliament, while 6 Armenians were serving on the former one. Two of them - Melik Raisian and Van Bayburdian - were elected by the proportional list of National Movement - Democrats ruling bloc. Other three, namely Henzel Mkoyan, Hamlet Movsissian and Hayk Miltonian were elected in their one-mandate constituencies in Samtskhe-Javakhetia. Meanwhile only three deputies of Azeri origin will be presented in the new Georgian parliament (there were 5 of them in the former one). However, as deputy Van Bayburdian told Freedom broadcasting station, the Azeri deputies have an important advantage: all of them speak the Georgian language perfectly, what is extremely important for participation in the parliamentary debates.
