Russian FM favors bilateral ties with Armenia![]() April 3, 2012 - 17:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 3, Armenian National Assembly speaker Samvel Nikoyan met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The parties congratulated each other on the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties, hailing the high-level bilateral relations particularly on parliamentary level. The two men further voiced content with the current activity of the interparliamentary committee also on the level of international organizations, with Mr. Nikoyan highlighting the importance of cooperation in inter-parliamentary assemblies of CIS and the CSTO. Russian FM, in turn, favored the development of bilateral ties, particularly boosting of trade turnover, growth of investments and a number of joint projects in various fields. The parties further discussed regional security as well as Nagorno Karabakh issue. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
