Armenia sends 5 participants to European Judo Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian judo team is through with its training in Tsaghkadzor resort town.

The team will further train in Russian city of Armavir on April 10-14 together with the Russian squad, following which they will take part in the European tournament in Chelyabinsk (Russia) starting April 24.

Hovhannes Davtyan (60kg), Armen Nazaryan (66kg), Artyom Baghdasaryan (81 kg), Gayane Harutyunyan (48 kg) and Zhanna Stankevich (57kg) will represent Armenia at the championship, the official website of Armenian Olympic Committee reports.

Team coaches Arthur Gevorgyan and Romanian judoka Adrian Croitoru believe Harutyunyan can qualify for the Olympic Games, along with Davtyan and Nazaryan who already have necessary Olympic points.

The International Judo Federation will announce names of all Olympic judoists on May 1.
