ARMENIAN OPPOSITION INTENDS TO HOLD MASS MEETING UNTIL RESIGNATION OF STATE LEADERSHIP

PanARMENIAN.Net - Justice opposition bloc and National Unity party organized an unauthorized rally in Yerevan today. According to the initiators about 60 000 people are taking part in the rally, while the police insists on 8 000 demonstrators. When addressing the rally participants, who gathered at the Freedom Square, the leaders of the united opposition reiterated about their intention to "remove Robert Kocharian from office and restore constitutional order in the country". The demanded to fulfill the recommendation by the Armenian Constitutional Court to conduct a referendum on confidence in the authorities, who in their opinion, came to power "by means of forged elections". As secretary of Justice bloc Viktor Dallakian told journalists during the meeting with the representatives of the ruling political coalition - the Republican Party, Orinats Yerkir and Dashnaktsutyun parties - the leadership was offered to agree on adoption of corresponding legislative changes till midday of April 12, that is before the beginning of the recurrent parliamentary three-day session, thus making it possible to call for a vote of confidence in President. As the rally organizers stated, the opposition is going to continue the indignation meeting until the resignation of the state leadership.
