Fiancé of Gyumri mayor’s daughter killed - paper

PanARMENIAN.Net - Karen Yesayan, 27, fiancé of Gyumri (Armenian northern city) mayor Vardan Ghukasyan’s daughter, was killed on April 12 night.

According to Haykakan Zhamanak paper, the couple was going to have their engagement ceremony on April 13.

The incident happened in Sev Berd part of Mother Armenia memorial complex in Gyumri. A man’s corpse, later identified as Karen Yesayan was found in a Mercedes-Benz with gunshot wounds. The provincial police held consultation meeting behind closed doors at 11:30pm on April 12.

Rumors were spread in Gyumri and also on the internet that Ani region former police chief’s son, allegedly seen fleeing the crime scene, is suspect in this case of homicide.

However, these reports are not confirmed officially.
