Paper: rape victim in Armenian village to undergo examination![]() April 13, 2012 - 09:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azat Ghukasyan, mayor of Hartashen village and physical training teacher in Armenia’s Syunik province was recently detained on charges of rape of his 14-year-old pupil. According to Zhamanak paper, the girl will shortly undergo a forensic psychological and psychiatric examination. Preliminary investigation and interrogations on the case are underway. Earlier Ghukasyan, born in 1962, has also been involved in similar incidents. Once a school director, he is rumored to have quitted his position because of sexual harassment against his students. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
