Armenian PM: we witness emergence of a new industrial societyApril 16, 2012 - 18:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan participated in the opening of a two-day international conference on “Theoretical and practical issues of development of a transforming society” organized in Armenia’s State Pedagogical University. Welcoming the conference participants, PM Sargsyan said the topic in question is an urgent one not only for scholars but politicians as well. “I believe that this conference will promote strengthening of the university's international ties. We developed an ambitious development program for the university so that its level rises to meet the standards of world’s best universities,” he said. The PM said the global economic crisis demands that politicians find solutions preventing a drop in their citizens’ living standards. “We witness emergence of a new in quality, industrial society, which bases on producing knowledge rather than commodities. The society able to produce up-to-date knowledge is considered to be modern,” the official said adding that the government should undertake establishment of infrastructures enabling the people to create new knowledge. Member of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences, chairman of the International Academy of Philosophy Gevorg Brutyan presented Tigran Sargsyan with a title of Honorary Doctor of International Academy of Philosophy.
