Russia’s Kaluga auto plant reveals new Peugeot 408 sedan April 16, 2012 - 18:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Kaluga auto plant built by the international automobile alliance of Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi has rolled out the first Peugeot 408 sedan car specifically developed for the Russian market, Peugeot said on its website on Monday, April 16, according to RIA Novosti. The Kaluga plant will launch the model into mass production in mid-2012. The car has been adapted to Russian roads and the local severe weather conditions after its trials were held in the Urals and the Polar region. The new Peugeot 408 car is one of the longest vehicles of its class with a length of 4.7 meters. The car’s increased width of 1.815 meters and height of 1.505 make it both more spacious and safer. In addition to Russia, the Peugeot 408 has been designed for the markets of China and Latin America. PSMA Rus was opened in Kaluga in 2010 and has an annual production capacity of 45,000 cars. The plant currently assembles Peugeot 308, Citroen C4, Peugeot 4007, Citroen C-Crosser and Mitsubishi Outlander.
