Camcorder placed in Mashtots Park, paper says

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to Hraparak paper, a video camera has been installed in Mashots Park where activists protest against construction of clothing stores.

When environmental activists asked high-ranking police officers about the reasons of placing the camera in the park, the police replied this was the initiative of the city administration, and they are to be addressed for inquiry.

The video surveillance perhaps aims to be a tool of psychological pressure and intimidation; the authorities are collecting “stuff" to discredit the activists and maybe even file proceedings against those attempting to dismantle the stores, the paper says.
