Heritage aims to build new Armenia – party member![]() April 19, 2012 - 20:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of Heritage opposition party’s parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan named creation of a new Armenia as the goal of the party’s election campaign. “Power shift doesn’t provide a solution to the problem; there must be a shift of the system,” he said. The expert slammed the current situation in the country, saying that the focus must be on human rights, state sovereignty and national interest. Dwelling on journalists’ remarks noting similarity between all election programs, Heritage spokesman Hovsep Khurshudyan suggested drawing a parallel between the party’s activities and its statements. Parliamentary elections, due in Armenia on May 6, feature 8 political parties, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenian party, as well as one election bloc represented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC). Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
