Prosperous Armenia gets largest coverage on TVApril 19, 2012 - 16:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of Armenia's National Committee on Television and Radio (NCTR) Grigor Amalyan named the parties which were most covered in TV broadcasts for their election campaigns. These were, in most to least order, Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Armenian National Congress, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenian party, Amalyan said on April 19 presenting the TV broadcast monitoring findings. According to Amalyan, the media managed to provide equal conditions for the political forces in general. NCTR only notified the Public Television of Armenia for providing much air to RPA, Kentron and 2nd Public TV for preferring Prosperous Armenia reports, and Yerkir Media channel for favoring Dashnaktsutyun. “This is not a warning but rather a move aiming to restore the balance in coverage,” Amalyan stated. Two TV companies, Sirak in Hrazdan town and Anna&Karen in the town of Spitak have been fined for failing to provide reports to NCTR about their election campaign coverage. NCTR next reporting period is due to be finalized by April 25. Top stories The Cabinet of Ministers decided on Thursday, November 9 to allocated AMD 120 million to arrange the gathering.
