PCs for Everyone project piloted in ArtsakhApril 20, 2012 - 12:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Increased access to computers governmental assistance program implemented by Nagorno Karabakh’s Economic Development Ministry was piloted in Stepanakert. This is a local version of “PCs for everyone” program implemented in Armenia which allows purchasing a computer under beneficial loan rates in specialized Next Computers, CompMarket, Horizon and SLS Computers shops in Stepanakert. According to Karabakh open.info, shops are expected to assign a special department for selling computers within this program. “Our citizens will have an opportunity to purchase a PC for AMD 250000 and a laptop for AMD 350000. Computers are provided for a 36-month period; no prior payment is required. The interest rate makes 10 per cent, while the remaining 12 per cent will be paid by the state,” Arnold Abrahamyan, expert in IT management on entrepreneurship support of NKR’s Economic Development Ministry said. About AMD 10 mln is allocated for the annual pilot program. The project will have a follow-up in case it proves successful, Economic development ministry of Karabakh said.
