Paper: schools closed for President’s election visit to Vayk townApril 20, 2012 - 14:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President, head of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan visited Vayots Dzor province on April 18 to support RPA’s parliamentary candidate Ashot Arsenyan, owner of Jermuk Group company. According to Hraparak paper, the meeting in the local town of Vayk was a very short one, yet notable for the fact that schoolchildren comprised the majority of those attending it. All schools in Vayk were closed during Sargsyan’s visit, with pupils and teachers crowding the town square with posters in their hands. A student said they were not forced to the meeting but they had no other option with classes suspended and schools closed, the paper reports.
