PanARMENIAN.Net - In the fifth round of Dubai Open Chess Championship Vladimir Akopian beat another Armenian representative Zaven Andriasian to score 4,5 points. He is currently second, having the same number of points as tournament leader Ni Hua.

Meanwhile, Robert Hovhannisyan scored a win over Tania Sachdev (India), Avetik Grigoryan beat Ibrahim Hasan Labib (Egypt), Gevorg Harutyunyan - Ali Abedi (Iran), Vahe Baghdasaryan - Ikrom Ilhomzoda (Tajikistan).

Tigran L. Petrosian - Vladimir Baklan (Russia) and Karen Grigoryan - Viani Antonio matches ended in a draw.
