National Geographic launches new app for iPhoneApril 21, 2012 - 15:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Just in time for the National Park Week, National Geographic launched a new free application for iPhone called National Parks by National Geographic, IntoMobile reports. Inside the app, users can browse guides for the 20 most visited national parks with more parks to be added soon. Included are interactive maps for each park, all with filtering by activity and seasonality. Moreover, there are must see and must dos, curated by National Geographic editors, as well as photo tips from National Geographic photographers. In addition, users can track their favorite parks, activities, itineraries, photos, collect park stamps, and share everything they like with friends and/or colleagues via popular social networks. National Parks by National Geographic is free to download, though expanded guides with additional information and photos are available for in-app purchase for 1 or 2 dollars. The first guide is free.
