World celebrates International Jazz Day![]() April 30, 2012 - 15:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The First Annual International Jazz Day, celebrated worldwide on April 30, will feature a concert at UNESCO Headquarters in New York scheduled for later in the day. Taking part in the event will be an array of prominent jazz musicians and singers, including Herbie Hancock, Tony Bennett, Chaka Khan, Diana Rivas, and Romero Lubamo. In an address on Monday, UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova specifically stressed the role that jazz is playing in modern-day world, TASS reported. The day will include concerts and jazz-related events across the globe. On April 30, jazz fans in Yerevan will be given a chance to enjoy their favorite music. To launch at 8 pm and continue far into the night, a Cascade-hosted concert will feature Armenian jazz masters performing best Armenian & international jazz compositions.
