Heritage rep. dubs Prosperous Armenia’s moves as plot![]() May 3, 2012 - 16:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy chairman of the opposition Heritage party Ruben Hakobyan sharply criticized the Prosperous Armenia party and particularly its opposition-like statements. Hakobyan believes this is a mere PR move, and a political force should be honest with voters. In this regard, he reminded of earlier actions of this party and the way it voted on key laws. “We respect ourselves and we do remember everything. We do not want to pave the way for an opposition force emerging a month or two prior to elections and aiming to grab votes of opposition-oriented citizens,” he emphasized. “All their activities do not favor either us or the people who support the opposition; this is rather a plot,” Hakobyan said. Heritage representative believes there are no political or moral excuses for a political party which has held the power for 5 years, and now claims to become opposition a month ahead of the elections. Heritage vice-chairman further stated that Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia and Orinats Yerkir are responsible for the current situation in the country. Parliamentary elections are due in Armenia on May 6 featuring 8 political parties (Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenians party, as well as one election bloc represented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC). ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
