Syrian activists say explosion killed at least 5 in Aleppo

PanARMENIAN.Net - Syrian activists say an explosion in car wash in the northern city of Aleppo Saturday, May 5, has killed at least five people.

According to AP, Aleppo activist Mohammed Saeed said the car wash is owned by a man known to be part of pro-government militias known as the shabiha. He said the bomb killed six people.

Bomb attacks inside Syria's largest cities have become frequent as the country's uprising against President Bashar Assad grows increasingly militarized. Many in the opposition have taken up arms since protesters first took to the street in March 2011.

The UN says more than 9,000 people have been killed.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
