CIS observer mission chief praises Armenia’s electoral committees

PanARMENIAN.Net - The polling stations opened on time for the May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia, head of CIS observation mission Vladimir Garkun said.

As he told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, 173 observers representing CIS mission plan to visit all polling stations.

“Armenian electoral legislation is in line with the international standards and provides its citizens with the right for free will,” he said.

Mentioning that the voting is proceeding smoothly, Garkun praised the preparedness of the electoral committees’ members and the voting preparations in general.

According to him, the summary mission report along with observers’ comments will be published on May 7.
