ARFD rep.: CEC decision on permanent stamps violates secret ballot principle

PanARMENIAN.Net - ARF Dashnaktsutyun representative Armen Rustamyan commented on Central Election Commission’s decision to replace vanishing ink stamps in voters’ passports with ordinary permanent stamps.

As he noted, on May 5, Armenia’s constitutional court refused to release the list of voters who’ve cast their ballots, citing violation of secret ballot principle behind the decision. “Having resolved against vanishing ink stamps, the Central Election Commission has violated the decision of the constitutional court,” ARFD representative said.

Dwelling on the activity of inter-party electoral headquarters, Rustamyan noted, “without having as much resources as the government does, we’re basically doing the work which is the government’s duty to perform.”
