GEORGIA CLOSED BORDER WITH AZERBAIJAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Council of the National Security of Georgia adopted the resolution on closing the frontier with Azerbaijan. As reported by RIA Novosti according to the Council administration the measure was conditioned by the necessity of struggling against the contraband brought into Georgia through the roadblock of Red Bridge located at the Georgian-Azeri border. Georgian National Security minister deputy Georgi Ugulava noted at a press conference that the villages of Ponichala and Karajala situated near the frontier have been out of control for a long time. "Despite numerous attempts the Ministry of Home Affairs of Georgia did not manage to establish its regional administration here", Ugulava told.
