ALMA to host Armenian Printed Books exhibitMay 12, 2012 - 11:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - This year marks the 500th anniversary of the first Armenian printed book (published in Venice in 1512), and museums and libraries around the world, including the Library of Congress are celebrating with exhibits and symposia. Drawing on the museum's extensive collection of antiquarian and modern publications, this major exhibit on Armenian Printed Books will be on display at Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA) from May 20 through Nov. 30, 2012. It will highlight the creation of the Armenian alphabet and literature, handwritten masterpieces, the development of Armenian printing around the world, and an examination of the types of books printed.
