IN CASE KERRY IS ELECTED PRESIDENT, US WILL RECOGNIZE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE, AMERICAN ASSEMBLY OF TURKISH ASSOCIATIONS HEAD CONSIDERS

PanARMENIAN.Net - In case John Kerry is elected US President, the Congress will recognize the Armenian Genocide. President of the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) Ercument Kilic told such an opinion to 525 Baku newspaper. "Some people state these are only election promises, made by all candidates, but I say that the case of Kerry is different. He is from Massachusetts, where there is a large Armenian community notable for its hatred towards Turks," Kilic said. Thus, in his words, the Congressmen of the state follow that policy. Based on that the ATAA head is 95% sure J. Kerry will recognize the genocide. As of the question, whom will the Turkish Americans vote for, as noted by Kilic, the organization headed by him is not political, thus they cannot call people to vote for a candidate. The only thing we can do is promote activity of Turkish Americans at the election, he said, adding there is a too small number of Turks, who have franchise in America. Anyway, we want Bush to be elected, as in case of his presidency the acknowledgement of the genocide is less likely, the ATAA leader summed up.
