Aram I meets with Armenian youth in Iran

PanARMENIAN.Net - Addressing a youth gathering in Isfahan, Iran, His Holiness, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I called for a more important role for the Armenian youth in church and community life: “All sorts of approaches and all modes of thinking that marginalize youth must be challenged” he said and urged the community organizations to provide broader space for a more active participation of youth.

His Holiness emphasized the pivotal role of youth in all aspects of society life. In his view, “constant and serious efforts must be made to ensure the contribution of youth to all initiatives and processes aimed at community building,” he said.

His Holiness also visited the community schools and met with the student and teachers. He said that “the school, with its important role in Christian education is, in a sense, the extension of church. This is why our church considers the school an inseparable part of its missionary outreach”. His Holiness greatly appreciated the dedication of the teachers to Armenian-Christian formation of the generations to come.

A cultural program was prepared by the students in his honor.

Aram I also visited the old people’s house and other social centers which are run by the church and church-related organizations.
