Iran’s chief nuke negotiator warns against “miscalculations”May 17, 2012 - 14:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, chief nuke negotiator Saeed Jalili warned members of the 5+1 Group against any “miscalculations” during their May 23 talks with Iran in f Baghdad. IRNA reports that Jalili made the remarks during the inaugural ceremony of the first national conference on the “Economy of Resistance” which started in Tehran earlier on Thursday, May 17 morning. “Resistance of the Iranian nation against the sanctions has led to further progress in all fields,” Jalili said. “This was for the same national resistance that now we can defend our rights and take part in any talks with proud and dignity.” Referring to recent comments made regarding Iran’s nuclear program, Jalili said that he “would warn them to be careful of what they say and avoid making any miscalculations as that was a common mistake repeatedly made by them since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.” “Iran is ready to talk for cooperation based on its legitimate rights,” he said. Responding to those who have recently said that the time for talks with Iran is running out, Jalili said, “But I say that time for using the strategy of pressure is running out.” “Any further pressure would lead to further resistance by the Iranian nation,” said the official, stressing that Iranians have chosen an “irreversible” path to progress which would never be stopped due to any pressures.
