Paper: ex-Mayor wants to become deputy PM?![]() May 18, 2012 - 11:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan has expressed willingness to assume a ministerial post in case he is jointly offered the position of deputy prime minister, according to Haykakan Zhamanak daily. Though Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is ready to appoint him as Transport Minister, he doesn’t see the ex-Mayor in the position of Deputy Prime Minister, the paper says. In all probability, Deputy PM Armen Gevorgyan will replace Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan if he leaves his post, the paper says. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
