CISTERN WITH SULFURIC ACID EXPLODED AT HRAZDAN HPP

PanARMENIAN.Net - A 2-tonn cistern with sulfuric acid exploded on June 30 evening at the territory of the Hrazdan Heat Power Plant (HPP). As reported in the Department for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, one man was killed and 7 taken to hospital with burns. The explosion resulted in the depressurization of the cistern and escape of poisonous substance. The extent of damage to the Hrazdan HPP that belongs to RAO UES of Russia is not clear yet. The details of the incident and causes of the explosion are being investigated at present.
