Iran, world powers start second day of talks![]() May 24, 2012 - 11:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Representatives of Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) started a second day of negotiations in Baghdad on Thursday, May 24 morning, Fars News Agency reported. Iran's chief negotiator and Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Secretary Saeed Jalili is leading the Iranian team of negotiators, while delegations of the six world powers are headed by EU foreign policy Chief Catherine Ashton. On the first day of the talks on Wednesday Iran offered a package of step-by-step proposals to the six world powers. Representatives of the G5+1 were due to express their view about the Iranian package in an evening session, which was originally scheduled for 6:00pm Baghdad time but was later delayed until this morning. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
