PanARMENIAN.Net - “The Sistine Madonna”, Raphael’s iconic painting, has received a new frame as a 'present' for its 500th anniversary.

Every single fragment of the carving and gilding of the frame’s ornament was made by hand.

The new frame reflects on the sacral origin of Raphael’s painting and enhances the aesthetic impact of this outstanding artwork.

The picture is on display at the Old Masters Picture Gallery in Dresden, The Voice of Russia reported.
